Know before you go

Mountain safety

  1. Check the board

Wind holds change fast above 2,500 m. Glance at the board before you commit to a zone.

  2. Read the bulletin

Off-piste? The SLF avalanche bulletin is posted at 08:00 and 17:00 at every base station.

  3. Ski the colours

Black runs are steep and may be ungroomed. Double-blacks are expert-only and patrolled, not groomed.

  4. Save the number

Ski patrol answers 24/7 on +41 27 555 0144. Tell them the nearest lift tower number.
